About Us

Seoul Gaels, Korea’s first ever GAA club has
been going from strength to strength since its foundation in 2002. The Gaels
have had many reasons to celebrate since then, most notably, in 2011 when the
club hosted the Asian Gaelic Games.

Since the early days of the AGGs when Seoul
Gaels won three consecutive Men’s A tournaments both men’s and ladies’ teams
have been fierce competitors at the games.

The club currently has over 60 members, many
of whom have been training hard since late March. One of the most positive
developments in the past year has been the continued progress of the Kids team
which was set up in 2013. They continue to improve and progress with each
passing year. Two Seoul Gaels teams competed in the Asian Youth Games in Kuala
Lumpur this year. They played with great skill and determination and we are
really proud of them.

Domestically, our senior teams competed in the
Korean league along with Daegu Fianna and Laochra Busan. This tournament was
started in 2012 and continues to go from strength to strength with each passing
year. This year also saw the introduction of the Korean Cup. This is a one-day
tournament which provides another opportunity to play Gaelic Football on the
Korean peninsula.

We were honored to host the North Asian Gaelic
Games in July. This tournament is for all the clubs in Korea, as well as Japan
GAA.  This year we were delighted to
invite a Chinese selection to play in the NAGGs. We were also lucky to be invited
to play in the China Games which took place in June.

The Gaels have had a busy and rewarding year
up to now and would love to cap it off with some success at the Asian Gaelic
Games here in Bangkok.
